Grid Study I
No order is broken first from outside. The earliest departure always comes from within, made of the very thing it leaves.
A grid holds its discipline across the surface, each division keeping faith with the next. Then a single line, laid down in the same black, quietly declines to join them. Born of the system, it will not keep to it. It follows a course the grid never granted, and the grid cannot disown it. The two are one ink, and only one of them obeys.
This is the first interruption, and it makes no argument of itself. It simply goes its own way, and the surface composes itself around that single act of leaving.
Hung in a quiet space, it holds an order almost complete, its single unruly line the more compelling for how quietly it keeps apart.
