Knotted Line

Not all movement is going somewhere; some of it simply keeps time.

A single dark line winds across the pale ground, crossing and recrossing its own path until you can no longer find where it began or where it means to end. It is not travelling anywhere. It loops, curves, and folds back on itself, one continuous gesture kept moving in a slow and even cadence. What looks at first like a tangle is only one line, patient with itself, tracing the same ground without haste.

There is a rest that lives inside certain kinds of motion. This is not restlessness but rhythm, measured and in no hurry to arrive.

The line loops on, calm and unbroken, content to keep time and go nowhere.
