Still Forms I
£273.69
Rhythm does not depend on motion; a few things, given enough space between them, keep a slow time of their own.
Here the movement has settled into stillness. Pale forms rest on the dark ground, a bowl among them, each set well apart and given its own quiet room. Nothing stirs, and nothing needs to. The rhythm has not stopped but slowed, carried now in the intervals between them, in the pauses as much as the shapes.
There is a cadence to stillness that motion never reaches. It is kept not in what happens, but in what is placed, and in the calm distances left between.
The forms hold their places, unhurried and at ease, resting in the quiet they are given.
