Quiet Vessel

What outlasts us is rarely what we built to last. It is the household object, the pot somebody filled with cuttings on an ordinary afternoon, for no reason beyond the fact that it pleased them.

Everything here is that kind of thing: vessels, bowls, small containers, arranged with the care of a shelf that mattered to someone. And each of them appears twice, once as it was kept and used, and again as an impression in earth, the same shapes surviving into an older register.

That doubling is the entire argument. The gesture was small; the survival is long. Care leaves a deeper mark than ambition.

The effect on a space is grounding rather than loud: deep, still, and domestic in the oldest sense of the word.
